What is the Widzew Thermal Storage Bell Stove?
A bell-type thermal storage stove is a highly efficient heating system that combines modern steel design with the principles of a classic massive masonry tile stove.
Its main feature is a heavy internal fireclay core and a unique architecture of «bells» (inverted chambers). Unlike standard metal stoves, it is designed not for instant air heating, but for energy accumulation and its subsequent prolonged heat release.
Main difference from standard direct-flow stoves:
- Standard direct-flow stove («potbelly stove»): Heats only while firewood is burning inside. Hot gases instantly escape into the chimney, overheating the flue pipe and creating a «sauna effect» in the room. As soon as the fire goes out, the metal cools down within an hour, forcing you to act as a stoker again.
- WIDZEW Bell Stove: Operates on the power bank principle. Firewood burns quickly at maximum capacity in just 1 hour. Hot smoke does not escape up the chimney, but is trapped under internal fireclay domes (bells), fully transferring its heat to the massive internal accumulator. Then, the closed stove radiates this heat into the house for hours.
5 main advantages of WIDZEW bell-type stoves:
- «1 burn per day» comfort: You only need to burn one load of firewood in the morning or evening. The stove accumulates heat on its own and will heat the house independently for the next 12–24 hours.
- Huge fuel savings: Thanks to high efficiency (75–85%) and the bell principle, you consume 2–3 times less wood than in direct-flow equivalents. Heat stays in the house instead of escaping through the chimney.
- Healthy infrared heat: The stove does not dry out the air or burn oxygen (no convective dust movement). It radiates soft, pleasant radiant heat — just like a real clay masonry stove.
- Stable microclimate: No more temperature swings between «scorching +35 °C and freezing cold». Cooling occurs smoothly and gradually, maintaining the ideal temperature for sleep and rest.
- Powerful universal firebox: Unlike foreign counterparts, the large dimensions of our firebox allow the use of standard logs up to 35 cm long, providing an ultra-fast energy «charge» for the stove.
